Vice President of Finance

The VP of Finance will serve as a key member of the executive management team. The position will be responsible for the administration and management of the finance department to include budgeting and forecasting, compliance, accounting, variance analysis, tax, treasury, external auditors, oversight of equity and compensation, board reporting, and preparing the finance team for future growth and scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership, management, and mentorship to members of the finance team.
  • Manage cash flow and provide timely communications regarding future cash projections and needs.Develop systematic procedures and systems for financial planning and analysis, including annual operating plans, forecasts, and all supporting operational reporting.Understand and ensure appropriate attention to the key financial drivers of the company.Contribute to strategic planning across existing and projected software products.
  • Oversee all internal and external financial and accounting system controls and standards
  • Ensure timely financial and statistical reporting.
  • Implement strong internal, financial controls.
  • Review expenses to ensure ongoing costs are justified and to minimize waste.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and areas that require improvement and provide the leadership to drive positive change.
  • Ensure that company financial reporting and policies meet GAAP standards and any other requirements of applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the Vice President of Human Resources to implement fair and competitive comp plans, benefits, equity distribution, expense management, travel and reimbursement policies, job offers, etc.
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, particularly the board, investors, and auditors.
  • Bring creative thinking and possess a strategic outlook, with a focus on value creation, organizational efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications: 

  • 10 years of financial management experience in a software recurring revenue (SaaS) business model, with enterprise or government focused experience preferred.
  • Possess exceptionally strong finance, accounting, analysis, planning and forecasting skills.
  • Exhibit professional integrity with a continuous history of delivering ‘clean financials’.
  • Ability to grasp complex business models and provide financial analysis.
  • Experience building the process and application infrastructure required to support significant company growth.
  • Proven track record of contributing to the overall strategic direction and general management of the company with the ability to work successfully with cross-functional executives.
  • Experience preparing investor and board presentations;
  • Inspiring manager and mentor to direct and indirect reports;
  • Ability to be “hands-on” getting things done when required.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance or a related field. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
